198 young mothers’ from Kilosa and Morogoro rural experiences increased employment opportunities through their established business (groups) by the project. Whereby, through increased production skills and operational has resulted to the increased sales of made-products for the valued of 6,865,000 TZS with accumulated profit of 3,585,000TZS in all district through marketing of their products in local markets such retail shop, Agri cycle company, business centers and weekly auction which has led to the increased monthly income earned by the young mothers from food processing from less than 150,000 TZS to 300,000 TZS.

 

Apart from expertise in processing of agro produces but also 173 young mothers’ have increased loan access for the value of 6,549,500 TZS with 7,936,800 TZS saving in all district through established VICOBA, the loans have significant helped in increased production (Sole business) and being assured with the market through linked with the market opportunities (increased their market intelligence).The three components (production skills, access to finance and markets) have assured self-employment and employment creation among the group. Possible challenges hinder development of group business might come from their working motivation/hard working and morale since other needed materials for business operation were provided in each group such as production equipment’s, startup capital materials, VICOBA printed record books, VICOBA Kit box as well as business skills (entrepreneurship). With close monitoring from MVIWAMORO, we are confident that young mothers will be able to develop and run their own business for income generation
